catch and release . . . well catch, take a picture, release

Every summer, we try out a few new programs so last fall when Mr. Ben mentioned that he'd like to run a fishing camp, I thought we'd give it a shot and see what kind of interest there was. When the camp was full by February, I just started worrying about whether they'd actually catch any fish. Having run a few fishing programs before, I know the challenges that you face- having to go at the worst time of day when all the fish are hiding from the sun and no one is looking for a bite to eat, the endless lost hooks and lines (and the occasional lost pole), and the fact that fishing requires something that many of our campers struggle with- patience but nevertheless, I wished Mr. Ben and his budding fishing experts luck and sent them off each day with that same hope- that they would actually catch something. And now I can actually share proof that they did just that-

Okay so they may not set any records anytime soon but still, they actually caught something!!! And stay tuned next year when we not only run Goin' Fishin again but offer a few more sessions in the hopes of reeling something even bigger in!
